Always burn candles until the wax pools to the edge of the glass.  Snuff the candle.  Relight after the wax cools.  Otherwise you will experience tunneling that will waste wax.  

Remove charms, large flowers and herbs as they are dislodged from the wax.  Use a spoon to remove crystals as the candle burns.  These can be cleaned and added to your altar or spiritual work.
